Gardening is generally a safe activity, but there are some risks to be aware of.  CMAA is a member of the National Allotment Society (NSALG). As part of our membership, our members benefit from additional insurance.

When driving on site, please remember the speed limit – 5mph – and remind others if necessary.

Cripley Meadow has had various uses over the decades, but soil testing has shown that with the usual sensible precautions, it is safe.

Cripley Meadow is in the flood plain, and, every few years, lower lying parts of the site go under water. This news item includes health and safety information specific to our site and flooding. Fortunately, we have not suffered from sewage polluting the site, but some of the advice in this article is worth bearing in mind. 

Cripley Meadow Allotment Association is a member of the National Allotment Society. As such, our members benefit from NAS’s insurance up to £50k against accidental injury or loss to others in certain circumstances.
