During the Covid-19 emergency, we are suspending our regular monthly communal Working Parties.
We had thought to experiment with a ‘do it yourself’ variation, where members would take on WP tasks at a time to suit themselves, but we now consider this to be too risky.
Cripley Meadow is a very large site, and can only be managed if every member of the allotment community contributes. For instance
- Pruning the communal orchards
- Clearing and covering abandoned plots
- Burning the bonfire regularly
See the photo gallery for action shots!
Members sign-up to two hours’ working party time each year although more is very welcome. Those who are unable to contribute their time may instead pay £20, but we would much rather have your time than your money!
Working party dates are published in our Diary Dates – usually on the second Sunday of each month (other than December) – from 10:30 at the green Association Shed (on the north-west corner of the site). Just turn up.
Please wear suitable clothing/footwear and remember suncream and a bottle of water on hot days.
